Holy Name of Jesus Parish supports religious education for all parishioners.

Grammar School and High School

Our Holy Name of Jesus School provides an excellent Catholic School Education to children from Pre-K3 through 7th Grade. For more information visit the Holy Name of Jesus School website or contact Ms. Kirsch Wilberg, principal, at 504-861-1466.

The Parish School of Religion supplements the education of our non Catholic School Students from Kindergarten through 12th Grade. Classes for Kindergarten through 7th Grade meet on Sunday mornings from 9 a.m. until 10:15 a.m. in the Holy Name of Jesus School. Eighth through 12th Grade meet on Sunday evenings in the Holy Name of Jesus Parish Center from 7:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m.  Sacramental preparation is also offered within this program to prepare youth for First Holy Communion, First Reconciliation and Confirmation. Children's Liturgy of the Word
Each Sunday at the 10:30 a.m. mass Holy Name of Jesus Church offers the Liturgy of the Word for children up to the 3rd grade. Children are dismissed before the first reading and return after the creed. Anyone interested in volunteering as a catechist for the children’s’ liturgy should contact the parish center office at 504-865-7430 or Bam Gressett, 504-355-7336, [email protected].

Adult Faith Formation
Adult? Not Confirmed? #890 of the Church’s Code of Canon Law says that “the faithful are obliged to receive this sacrament at the proper time.” This might be that time for you!
