“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded of you” Matt 28:19-20.
Holy Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit, and the door, which gives access to the other sacraments. It is the first of the Three Sacraments of Initiation – Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist.
Catechism of the Catholic Church, 1213
Baptism is, like all the sacraments, a gift from God.
The fruit of Baptism, or baptismal grace, is a rich reality that includes forgiveness of original sin and all personal sins, birth into the new life by which man becomes an adoptive son of the Father, a member of Christ and a temple of the Holy Spirit. By this very fact the person baptized is incorporated into the Church, the Body of Christ, and made a sharer in the priesthood of Christ.

Baptism At Holy Name of Jesus Church
The Catholic Church has always taught and respected the understanding that parents are the primary educators in the faith of their children. Our Baptismal preparation is designed to assist parents and godparents in raising these children in the faith.
Baptisms are offered for our parishioners most Sundays following the 10:30 a.m. Mass. All godparents and parents are to attend a one-hour baptism seminar which is on the first Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the Pastoral Center.
