Children in Second Grade receive instruction for the Sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Eucharist in the religious education program in which they are enrolled for the year - either at Holy Name of Jesus School or our Parish School of Religion (CCD), as well as other private Catholic schools, Academy of the Sacred Heart and Ursuline Academy, and Stuart Hall. They must all be registered with the parish in the fall of the Second Grade Year. First Reconciliation takes place at the end of January and First Communion in late April or early May.
Students must also attend immediate preparation in the form of evening meetings in the spring semester before First Communion, as well as at a Workshop held the week before First Communion Mass.
